What a hypocrite! Francesca was outraged by her brother-in-law who brazenly dared to show up at her husband’s funeral. He never came to see her husband after he fell seriously ill, and she’ll never forgive him for that. However, her husband’s will completely blindsided her—unbelievably her husband asked his brother, Guy, to marry Francesca and take care of her for the rest of her life!

A Wife On Paper Harlequin comics eBook Liz Fielding Sayuri Nagasaki Reviews

A man in love with his brother's girlfriend steps in to rescue her when his brother dies leaving her not-quite penniless. Loads of misunderstandings and communication problems before straight talking saves the day and we get the happy ever after.
Rating 3.5 __Contains some sexual content, none graphic.
Stand-alone read. _9th in the multi-author, Contract Brides series.

EASY READ. Engaging characters, strong alternate family theme, great secondary cast, and a rocky romance. HOWEVER, the writing is fragmented and confusing in places, there are some major inconsistencies with the timeline, and this retelling of a convenience-marriage storyline holds nothing new. If you’ve read a similar plot, it’s not worth the reading time.

THE STORY reunites former business major, Francesca Lang, and uber-rich geologist, Guy Dymoke. Three years earlier, Guy was waiting for his charming, screw-up, younger stepbrother, Steven, when Francesca walked in. Guy fell hopelessly in love. Unfortunately, Steven enters next and introduces her as his live-in, pregnant girlfriend. Recognizing Guy’s attraction, Steven manipulates him into accepting employment abroad to prevent contact.

As the story unfolds, Guy returns when he learns that Steven is terminally ill, but he is too late. Arriving just in time for the funeral and reading of the will, both Guy and Francesca are shocked to find that Steven has arranged for a marriage of convenience, so Guy will provide for Francesca and her young son. What no one knew is Steven lied about everything and left Francesca homeless and destitute. Obviously, Guy steps up to marry the women he secretly loves and everything is resolved with a happy ending.

OVERALL – engaging storyline, but nothing special. CONTRACT BRIDES series includes Marriage on Demand, Strategy for Marriage, Bride by design, The Marriage Command, Bride of Convenience, Her Stand-In Groom, Marriage in Name Only, The Last Minute Marriage, A Wife on Paper, Vacancy Wife of Convenience, and His Hired Bride.

You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, Anne Stuart, and E. Palfrey. For funny, heart touching romances with great dialogue and descriptive imagery, try Susan Fox, Cara Colter, and Nikki Logan.
So do yourself a favor and read this one. I hesitate to write more as I do not want give anything away.
This is a touching story, imaginatively written. Although the end is predictable for these types of romance novels, you will want to keep reading to learn how this couple overcame the obstacles and created a new beginning.
Cute, but confusing in the middle. The first half was ok, but the second half was choppy. It could've been written a little better and then I would've given it a higher rating.
